Ask ACRES Guidance

Ask ACRES is the educational assistant embedded across ACRES KEPT. This policy explains how it works, how it protects privacy, and where its limits are.

Section 01

What Ask ACRES is for

Ask ACRES answers educational questions about land stewardship, family readiness, disciplines and jurisdictions, and how the ACRES KEPT platform works. It points you to Reading Rooms, the Resource Library, Field Notes, and next steps on your journey.

Section 02

What Ask ACRES is not

  • It is not a lawyer, accountant, financial advisor, title officer, or engineer.
  • It does not provide legal, financial, tax, title, or engineering advice.
  • It does not make transactional decisions on your behalf.
  • It does not connect you directly to another family, steward, or partner — introductions live in the platform and require mutual consent.

Section 03

How it adapts to each audience

  • Visitors may ask a limited number of general educational questions. Responses are not personalized. Visitors are invited to create an account for personalized guidance.
  • Families receive answers shaped by their Family Profile, Property Profile, Family Readiness Assessment, Reading Room progress, and Dashboard recommendations.
  • Stewards receive answers shaped by their Steward Profile, regions served, disciplines, and capacity.
  • Partners receive answers shaped by their Partner Profile, specialties, jurisdictions, and referral availability.

When personalization data is unavailable or incomplete, Ask ACRES falls back gracefully to general educational guidance.

Section 04

Privacy boundary

Ask ACRES never exposes information about another family, steward, or partner. It cannot see other users' profiles, assessments, properties, or private messages. Every conversation is scoped to the account that started it.

Section 05

When to talk to a human

For anything that will bind you — a contract, a signature, a payment, a filing — talk to a qualified human. Ask ACRES will consistently recommend a steward, partner, or the ACRES KEPT team when a question reaches that threshold.

Section 06

Limits and mistakes

Ask ACRES can be wrong. It can miss context, misremember a resource, or misjudge a fact. Treat its answers as a starting point for your own thinking and for a conversation with a real person, not as a final decision.
